Scott Olsen took it on the chin this afternoon as the Marlins dropped their spring game to the Orioles 8-1. He gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four frames. Up until then he was having a solid spring and he should have one more tune up game before the real season starts.
Alejandro De Aza was the hitting star. He went two for four while Mike Jacobs doubled and drove in the lone Marlins run.
Cameron Maybin was sent down to Double A so De Aza and Cody Ross (another former Tiger) will split time in centerfield. I expect Maybin to be back with the big league club by midseason though. He tore up Double A last year in a short stint and I’d expect the same this year.
Ricky Nolasco gets the start tomorrow. He Marlins play the Mets at St. Lucie.
