It’s tough when you use four pitchers in a game, and all four give up runs. Ricky Nolasco showed some promise with three shutout innings to start the game but then he yielded three runs in the fourth before getting pulled. Bob Keppel also had a tough time and he gave up two insurance runs to the Orioles in the ninth inning.
Jeremy Hermida was the Marlins offense in the 7-3 loss. His three run homer, the first for him this spring, accounted for all of the Marlins runs. Cody Ross was the only Fish to have a multi-hit game with two singles while Cameron Maybin singled and he scored on the homer.
Rick VandenHurk gets the start tomorrow. It’s a day game against the Twins on the road with a 1:05 start time. It’s nice to see the Marlins near the top of the heap in the Grapefruit League, it’s just too bad these games don’t count.
