Marlins Lose Ugly In Blowout Loss to Mets

by @ 6:25 pm. Filed under 2008 Marlins

This game was ugly and the end result is a series loss in the opener of the season.  The Mets jumped all over Andrew Miller and he gave up five runs in 4 1/3 innings while Lee Gardner was destroyed for five more in just one inning of work.  The only pitcher to throw at least one inning and not give up a run was Justin Miller, who held the Mets scoreless in the eighth inning.

Even worse, the Marlins were held to just six hits in the 13-0 shutout loss.  All six hits were singles and the only batter to pick up more then one hit was Hanley Ramirez.

It’s sad but the Marlins already need a day off tomorrow.  Friday they kick off their second home series of the season against the Pirates.
