The Marlins squeaked out a win today and they did it behind another solid outing by Andrew Miller. The big lefty went four innings and he gave up a single run on four hits and a walk with one strikeout. That leaves Miller’s ERA at a nice even 2.00 after nine innings pitched. The strikeout to walk ratio is troublesome (5/7) but so far, that hasn’t turned into runs.
Dallas McPherson belted a solo homer in the sixth inning and that broke a 2-2 tie. It turned out to be a game winner. Hanley Ramirez doubled and he scored a run.
The Marlins have two games tomorrow and both are on the road. Gaby Herandez and Chris Volstad will get the starts.
